Prom Makeup
Prom Makeup should be as natural looking as the makeup you normally wear, the only differences you may like to make is to wear an eye shadow with a color which matches your prom outfit with a bit of sparkle, a subtle line of eye-liner, particularly if you don't usually wear eye-liner can have a dramatic effect without going overboard, lipsticks can be a similar color to your normal but by applying lip gloss will give a pretty shimmer to your lips.
It may be very tempting to try something completely different but you should resist the temptation to try for a look that you are not used to applying or that alters your appearance drastically as you want to feel comfortable and confident on prom night.
Preparation of your skin before prom night is essential; the last thing you want is pimples and spots ruining your looks! Eat a healthy diet that includes lots of fresh fruit and vegetables and drink plenty of water to keep your skin hydrated and well moisturized morning and night. There are many products which claim to reduce spots and pimples, but unless you try them weeks in advance of prom night you may be disappointed if your skin has an allergic reaction to any of the ingredients. If you have blemishes and red skins it may be worth trying one of the mineral makeups which give a smooth, flawless finish without having to apply too much.
Prom makeup for eyes should be glamorous without being garish, by this I mean not plastered on too thick and by selecting subtle tones of eye shadows which have a shimmer or sparkle to them. Keep eye liner to a fine line which if applied with a slight extension to the outside of the eyes which give them the appearance of being larger. Two carefully applied coats of mascara should complete the look, be careful not to over-do mascara by applying the coats too thickly as this tends to make the mascara clumpy looking and not at all natural. Black mascara will probably have the most dramatic effect in making your lashes loo longer; however, there are mascaras which also have a slight sparkle to them which may complement your look.
Lipstick should be applied sparingly and carefully. By using a lip liner one shade darker than your lipstick will give a consistency and professionalism to the look. Make sure that you blot off excess lipstick and use a top coat of lip gloss to add sexiness!
Your Prom Makeup should make you feel glamorous and give you confidence. Remember to hold your head up when walking into the prom and you are sure to make an impact!
